Video Gamers

With my recent posts on here Nathan made the comment that our blog is only about our boys. I started to think about it and realized he was right, and that we barely comment about we, Nathan and I, are up to. I also noticed that there are no pictures of me on here, except right after delivering Kai, which isn't all that flattering. The problem is that we aren't that great at taking pictures very often, and when we do they are of our 2 boys. I am normally the photographer so I am rarely in any shots, and when I am there is NO WAY I am going to post them on here since I hate the way I look in pictures. However, now that Nathan has pointed this out to me, I will see if we can take some pictures together all as a family, as well as just the two of us. I will also try to mention things here and there about us, the adults, if there is anything worth mentioning :).
So in honor of Nathan's comment, I posted a recent picture with him in it. The other night Nathan asked Chase if he wanted to play video games, which Chase was all for. Chase gets really into whatever game they're playing, which in this case it was Tiger Woods golf on Xbox, and even though his controller really isn't hooked into to play the game, he thinks he is the one controlling the golfer when it is in fact his dad. It is pretty funny to watch him get into it, especially when he pulls out his ugly Spiderman "big boy" chair to sit in and play the game. I also thought this picture was funny since Nathan looks pretty into the game as well. We probably shouldn't be encouraging video games with Chase being only 2, but I guess they are born with the desire to play :)

Now We Have 2 Talkative Boys

As if Chase saying words like "ladder", "people", "hammer" over and over again, as well as saying a whole number of phrases all the time, we now have another talkative little boy. Kai loves to talk now that he is almost 3 months, and rarely stops. His squeals and squeaks are so cute and they go on forever. I don't remember Chase talking so much, but Chase was a lot more mellow baby from what I can remember. Kai is starting to feel much better, and that is so great for us because it is a lot of fun seeing him happy. He is becoming so much more observant of the world around him. He loves watching each of us, and he loves sucking on his hands and grabbing at things. I just love my boys.

Hoops!

Chase loves basketball, and almost every other sport that uses a ball, but for his birthday we got him his first hoop and he loves to play with it outside. Tonight he is excited to watch the first Lakers and Celtics game with Dad. Go Lakers!

Getting to Know Kai

Kai has been a difficult baby so far, since his acid reflux causes him to scream and cry a lot, and not sleep very well, but he is getting better and is starting to figure out this world he now lives in. He is seven weeks today, and has been getting the hang of smiling and interacting with us. He seems like he is going to be a big boy, and is getting longer and longer. We love having him and can't wait for him to become an easier baby.

Welcome Kai

Kai Nathan Crisenberry joined our little family on his due date, March 13th at 6:52 pm. He was a pretty easy delivery, and was an ounce bigger than Chase was, 7lbs8oz. He has been a joy to have, is such a cutie, and is thankfully pretty easy for a newborn despite not allowing me too much sleep. Chase is adapting pretty well and loves to say "baby" and "Kai". He is also a pretty good helper, and is just trying to figure out where it is ok to touch/poke the baby and how to be "gentle." I am so thankful to have my 3 boys, I love them each so much!

Christmas Tree Hunting

Normally we go to good ol' cheap Wal-mart to get our Christmas tree, but I called around and found a place up in the forest that was less expensive and we could cut down our own tree. It was a cold day, but Chase was surprisingly ok with being bundled up and looking through hundreds and thousands of trees until we finally decided on one. It was a lot of fun and we will have to see if we are still up to it next year when we have 2 little boys to be worrying about.

Thanksgiving at the Beach

For Thanksgiving we went down to spend the holiday with Nathan's family in Santa Barbara, where he grew up. Thankfully the weather was nice, like it almost always is, and we were able to go to the beach while we were down there. It was pretty windy, but Chase and Nathan still found it fun to throw sand, dig, and run around.
